How technology has effected social skills
This would be a really interesting topic because it pertains to my generation (and any generation). I think technology has significantly decreased social skills. Some people think that with technology, comes loss of some things and a gain of others. For example, people sometimes connect and meet through online gaming or through internet dating cites that allow people to open up and be themselves but I think this is still a completely negative affect of technology. People have decreased in their ability to effectively communicate face to face with individuals or a large group of people. Nowadays we need public speaking courses and "mixers" to be forced to meet people and "ice breakers" so that we know what to say when we are first meeting someone. Attention spans have decreased as well which influences our ability to carry on a long intellectual conversation. With texting, we aren't even making full sentences (grammar has decreased) and people stick to like 3 word answers. Anyway I think this would be a good topic to do, I'm just worried that it's not very original.
The Ethics of cloning animals
My argument would be that this is not right because it might lead to testing and cloning humans which is unacceptable. This is an interesting topic and with all of the advances lately is it pertains to today's world.
